International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad or IIIT-H) is a private university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, established in 1998 under Not-for-Profit Public Private Partnership, laying focus on Information Technology and other fields such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Computer Aided Structural Engineering and their interdisciplinary applications across other domains. Established in 1998, IIIT Hyderabad is the flagship IIIT campus.
Spread over 66 acres, the IIIT-H campus is bordered by the Hyderabad Central University, Indian School of Business (ISB), TCS-CMC, Indian Immunologicals and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Development Banking (JNIDB). The campus is sited in the close vicinity of HiTech City Centre.
The campus hosts well-equipped, air-conditioned computer laboratories with latest hardware and software, well stocked library with large collection of reference books, text books, technical reports, standards, literature books and CDROMS and over 150 journals/magazines. The institute also houses a digital library, an online archive of useful software, books and tutorial and students can download any permitted software from this resource. The digital library also features textbooks and reference books in the digital format as well along with recorded lectures and most courses maintain an intranet site containing lecture slides and other course material. All computers in the campus are part of an intranet (one gbps backbone), which connects all buildings, including the hostels; and a high-bandwidth (eight mbps) internet is available round the clock.
The campus hosts four vegetarian messes (North Mess, South Mess, Mixed Mess and Yuktahar Mess), a canteen which serves snacks, non-veg food and general fast foods, cafeterias that serve juices, milk products and snacks. Other facilities include bank extension counter, ATM machine, stationary shop and laundry services.
The sports infrastructure includes facilities for cricket, volley ball, soccer, basket ball, table tennis, etc.

Part time programmes
Part time PG program are for Hyderabad based professionals to join the PG Student Status program (PGSSP) that allows them to enroll in courses of their interest and helps them acquire knowledge in chosen areas without regard to any degree. Students awarded the PGSSP status can take a maximum of two courses each semester. If they choose, based on their performance in the courses, professionals may be formally admitted into a part-time (or full-time) degree program.
The courses taken under the PGSSP scheme will then count towards the formal degree. In case the candidate is interested in part-time research program (MS or PhD), they should additionally meet relevant faculty members and discuss their research plans and/or do a project with them.

SportsAdmission to undergraduate programs is based on one of five acceptance modes: JEE Mains, the institute’s own Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Examination (UGEE) and interview, representing India in the International Olympiads during class XI and XII (including International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), International Biology Olympiad (IBO), International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO), International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) and International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL)/Paninian Linguistics Olympiad (PLO), Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA) and lateral entry admissions to dual-degree programs through Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) and interview.
Admissions for postgraduate studies are on the basis of the Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) conducted by IIIT Hyderabad. Admissions to the MSIT programme run at this institute are based on a test conducted every year from April to May.

Being a residential institute, it is compulsory for all students to stay on-campus. Separate hostels for boys and girls are available on-campus with basic facilities. All the hostel rooms are well networked and internet enabled.
Gymnasium facilities are available in hostel with a physical trainer, apart from the common gym which is open for all residents. A separate mini gym is also provided for girls in the girls’ hostel.
