Amity University emerges champions at the 4th ISBF MUN Conference

Amity University, Noida bagged the overall Best Delegation award on the concluding day of the 4th ISBF Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held at the Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF), Delhi on February 9 & 10. Rahul Krishna won the best delegate in the UNGA committee, while Ankita Sabarwal and Nikhil Goyal won the best delegate awards in the UN Women and NITI Aayog Committees respectively. The Best Delegates received a cash reward of Rs.10,000, while the High Commendations were awarded Rs.5,000 each.

Over 120 students and faculty from leading institutions of Delhi, including institutions such as Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College for Women, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) College, Khalsa College, Jesus and Mary College, Ecole Global School, Dehradun and Amity University (NOIDA), participated in the conference which concluded on Saturday.

The three committees formed at the 4th ISBF MUN were UN Women, UNGA and NITI Aayog. At the UN Women, ‘Gender Dysphoria with Special Emphasis on Sex Reassignment Surgeries’, saw detailed discussions on gender related issues, questions related to transgender, the taboo associated with it, their clichéd presentation in publications, and the status of their rights. In the other two committees, delegates at the UNGA (DISEC) discussed the promotion of ‘Multilateralism in the Area of Disarmament and Non-proliferation’, while the NITI Aayog committee debated and discussed on ‘Processes of Recrafting a Formal Definition of Poverty and Restructuring Centrally Sponsored Schemes for its Reduction’.

Speaking during the prize distribution ceremony, Gunisha Arora, secretary general, ISBF MUN said, “Organising MUN Conferences provides students with an opportunity to acquaint themselves with leading global and national issues, which act as building blocks for students’ exposure and career prospects.”
