Overview

Kulachi Hansraj Model School, New Delhi is an English medium coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and the Cambridge International Assessment Education (CAIE), UK. It was founded in 1972 by Smt. Santosh Taneja. Managed by the DAV College Management Committee, the school is duly recognised by the Department of Education, Government of NCT, Delhi. Being ISI and EMS certified, the school fulfils the requirements of a Green School.

The primary objective of the school is to provide moral, emotional and educational support to the children and nurture them into disciplined, motivated and confident individuals. The school lays emphasis on teaching the young minds the value of Indian culture and to infuse in them ancient Vedic values and modern scientific temperament.

Campus

Sited amidst verdant surroundings, the 5.18 acre KHMS campus hosts well lit spacious classrooms with smart class facilities, an auditorium with seating capacity of 800, two open air theatres, two large multipurpose halls, a conference hall and a technology enabled resource room. The school also houses separate well equipped laboratories with the latest infrastructure for subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, bio-technology, fashion technology and computers. It also houses a well-stocked library featuring over74,000 books, volumes of encyclopedias, national dailies and 24 weekly journals. The school hosts two huge playgrounds, a table tennis room and a play area for the kids to cater to their sporting activities. The school also provides medical and transportation facilities for the convenience of the students.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE and CAIE, Kulachi Hansraj Model School, New Delhi offers schooling from pre-school through class XII.

The teaching curriculum for preschool, pre-primary and classes I and II is designed in accordance with Education Development Programme introduced by DAV Education Board. No periodic examinations are held at this level and the child is promoted on his/her overall performance.

For classes V to X the school follows Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as per the norms laid down by CBSE. Emphasis is laid on academics as well as co-curricular areas, thus ensuring their holistic development.

At senior secondary level, the school offers science, commerce and humanities streams.

The co-curricular activities include dancing, music painting, drawing, dramatics and art and craft, scientific skills, ICT skills and health education. The school also organises various excursions and promotes activity clubs. Sporting activities include cricket, badminton, table tennis, skating, basketball and volley ball.
