Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (SAV), Jamui, Bihar is a coeducational government residential school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school was established by the State Government of Bihar with the first batch of 120 students enrolling in August 6, 2010 and on August 9, 2010, chief minister Nitish Kumar officially inaugurated the school. The school offers classes from class VI through class XII.
The school has a record of consistently producing state toppers in the Bihar School Examination Board. SAV students dominated the International Mathematics Olympiad in 2013 and participates participated in various inter-state and inter-school competitions.
SAV’s facilities include a library stocked with books on poetry, stories, novels, essays, spirituality, travels, drawings, music, computers and magazines; computer laboratories with a student /computer system ratio of 1:1; well equipped science labs; multipurpose hall and spacious classrooms.
The sports infrastructure includes facilities for football, hockey, basketball, cricket, athletics, Judo, Karate, Yoga and facilities for indoor games such as table-tennis, carom, chess, ludo and badminton.
SAV follows CBSE curriculum and the school’s principal and faculty are chosen at national level to ensure provision of quality education. Apart from regular academic subjects, the school also imparts learning for languages such as English, Hindi and Sanskrit and additional mandatory subjects such as agriculture, metallurgy, music, drawing, sculpture etc.
Students are assessed continuously with progress cards issued on monthly basis marking the students’ effort and success in each subject. Students are given a monthly examination and at the end of term reports are prepared as per the CBSE guidelines. At the end of each academic year, a traditional examination is held where 50 percent weightage is given to the combined marks in the various examinations held throughout the year which is combined with the marks gained in the final examination which is prepared using the CGPA procedure.
Extracurricular activities include drama, elocution, creative writing, photography, music, dance, painting, sculpture, gardening, agriculture, bird watching, mountaineering, radio mechanics, electronics, sight-seeing and debates.

SportsSimultala Awasiya Vidyalaya conducts a state level entrance examination in English and Hindi through which 120 qualifying candidates are selected for admission to class VI, out of 120 students, 60 are boys and 60 are girls.
Eligibility:
Candidates should be aged between 10 and 12 years on April 1 of the year in which admission is sought to appear for the entrance examination, must be studying in a recognised school and present NOC from an authority/department of the State of Bihar.
Fees
The school fee is based on the income group of the parents/guardians of the child. For families below the poverty line, education at SAV is absolutely free. For parents/guardians with sufficient income, the entire fees are charged. For the selected candidates, the fees for the entire year would be determined on the combined salary of their parents/guardians as follows:

The hostels at Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya are called Ashrams and to inculcate self-dependence and the dignity of labour, students are encouraged to perform chores such as cleaning their surroundings, washing utensils as well as keeping the restrooms clean.
There are two hostels, one for the boys and one for girls. The boys’ hostel is subdivided into small wards named as Dashrath, Vidyapati, Aryabhatt and Dinkar while the wards in the girls hostel are named as Kasturaba, Srojini, Mahasundri and Vidhyawasini.
