Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a statutory university established by the Government of Gujarat under the National Law University Act, 2003. The university is recognised by the Bar Council of India and University Grants Commission. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities and functions as a nodal centre for upliftment of legal education in the state of Gujarat.
The university constantly strives for academic and professional excellence in the field of legal studies in the country.
Spread over 50.64 acres, the GNLU Gandhinagar campus hosts facilities such as library, internet, labs, moot court halls, auditorium, etc. The university has 12 research centres with approximately 60 teaching and research faculty members. The campus also houses a legal history museum and accommodation facilities for staff members.
GNLU offers 18 courses at UG, PG, PhD and PG diploma levels including BA LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons), LLM, etc. Besides, it also offers certificate course in Comparative Taxation Law, Business Regulation on International Financial Service Centre, Introduction to Japanese law, etc.
The university conducts regular in-house moot court competitions and encourages meritorious students to participate in international moot court jamborees.
GNLU’s Committee on Recruitment Affairs (CRA) facilitates interviews for on-campus as well as off campus recruitment. Apart from managing the recruitment process, the CRA has, in the past, organised lectures by experts from different industries, so as to keep the students updated on industry trends and expectations.
LabsAdmission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM is done on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
