Overview

Founded in 1985, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) is a deemed university established as a part of the Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust under the leadership of Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. SRIHER comprises nine constituent colleges with over 45 departments offering about 92 courses in health care and medical studies and research with more than 6000 students.

The university has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A Grade with a GCPA of 3.52 on a 4-point scale, the highest to be awarded to a private medical university in India.

Campus

The 150 acre SRIHER campus hosts fully air-conditioned state of the art class rooms, world class library with Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), internet browsing facility, photocopying room, subscription to international journals, Wi-Fi and a study hall.

Other facility includes well-equipped laboratories, auditorium, canteen, post office, grocery store, restaurant, active learning centre, a well equipped auditorium with excellent acoustics and has a seating capacity of 170.

Sports facilities include cricket pitch, football field, tennis court, volleyball court, and basketball court.

Placements:

The placement cell of SRIHER is headed by the Deputy Director- Placement, who is assisted by Placement Coordinator and dedicated faculty representatives from all the faculties/departments across the institution.

The placement cell manages centralised placement activities across all courses, organising campus recruitment drives with reputable industries and organizations from all over India. The cell prepares students for campus recruitment by arranging training in Aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers and promotes career counselling by organizing guest speakers by senior corporate personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students.

Admission

Undergraduate Admission- M.B.B.S. and B.D.S.:

Selection Criteria: NEET UG entrance score/rank

Eligibility: 10+2 with English, physics, chemistry and biology (or botany and zoology) / biochemistry with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)

Postgraduate Admission- M.D., M.S., M.D.S., D.M. & M.Ch.:

Selection Criteria: NEET PG entrance score/rank. Final admission is offered through counselling conducted by DGHS, New Delhi.

Eligibility: MBBS Degree from recognised institution with completed Internship (CRRI)            

B.Sc. (Medical), B.P.T., B.O.T., B.A.S.L.P., M.Sc., M.P.H., M.P.T. Admissions:  

Selection Criteria: Entrance test conducted by the university, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates

Eligibility:

• B.Sc. (Medical), BPT, BOT, BASLP- 10+2 level from a recognised boards in the relevant subject group
• B.Sc./MPH/MPT- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from recognised university
• Integrated M.Sc.- 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology/Mathematics

B.Pharm., M.Pharm. and Pharm.D. Admissions:  

Selection Criteria: Entrance test conducted by the university

Eligibility:

• B.Pharm.- 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology or botany and zoology or with English, PCM or PCB (biology/botany/zoology) and any other subject with a minimum aggregate of 50%
• Pharm.D.- 10+2 in PCB/PCM or D.Pharm.
• M.Pharm.- B.Pharm. degree from a recognised university

B.B.A./M.B.A. Admission:

Selection Criteria:

• B.B.A.- Selection based on merit and marks obtained in personal interview conducted by the university
• M.B.A.- All-India entrance test conducted by the university

Eligibility:

• B.B.A.- 10+2 with Commerce, Accountancy, Business Maths and Economics / Computer Science OR Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology), Mathematics/Computer Science OR English language should be one of the main subjects
• M.B.A- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from recognised university

 B.Tech. and B.Sc. (Sciences) Admission:

Selection Criteria: marks obtained in a personal interview conducted by the university.

Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with chemistry/computer science/biology with a minimum aggregate of 60%

Research Admission: M.Phil & Ph.D.

Achievement

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research 54 overall in India in 2019, 33 among universities, 11th in the medical ranking and 26 in the pharmacy ranking. was ranked 22 among medical colleges in India in 2020 by India Today.[6]

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accredited (Cycle-2) Sri Ramachandra University with “A” Grade with a CGPA of 3.62 on a 4-point scale, the highest to be awarded to a private medical university in India.

The Joint Commission International (JCI) has accredited the university teaching hospital, the first teaching hospital in India to obtain such accreditation from JCI.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recognised and upgraded the Regional Centre in Medical Education Technologies, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Sri Ramachandra University, as a Nodal Centre to conduct both Basic and Advance course in Medical Education Technologies.

Accommodation

Student housing is secure and well supervised. There are separate hostel facilities for both men and women students, with a total no. of 3608 rooms. Single rooms available inside the campus to accommodate undergraduate and postgraduate students in medical and other disciplines. The campus has continuous running soft water supply and power supply.
