Founded on November 23, 1949, Gujarat University is one of the most well renowned higher education institutions in India. The university spans over eight districts of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Panchamahal, Dahod, Mahisagar and two union territories. Being an affiliating university, Gujarat University boasts 350 affiliated colleges, 35 post graduate departments and more than 50 affiliated post graduate centres with diversified courses in faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Law, Medical and Dental.

General Information

Admission

Eligibility criteria Doctorate courses - Candidates should hold postgraduate or any other equivalent degree with 50 percent (5 percent relaxation to reserved candidates) aggregate marks or more from a recognised university/college. PG courses - Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the applicable discipline from a recognised university or equivalent. UG courses - Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognised board of education with at least 50 percent aggregate marks. Also, they must have their relevant major subject as a subject in 10+2. The Gujarat Board 2. The Central Board of Secondary Education 3. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi 4. The National Institute of Open Schooling 5. The International School Board A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from other than Gujarat Board shall be required to obtain PEC from Gujarat University before registration. Accommodation

The university provides separate accommodation facilities for boys and girls. Each hostel room is equipped with a table, chair, bed, cupboards, telephone, news paper, water cooler, and television.
