Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi is an English-medium private co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
It was established in 1966. T.R. Gupta was the first principal of the school. The school’s philosophy is based on the ideals of the DAV (Dayanand-Anglo Vedic) movement of Maharishi Swami Dayanand. The mission of the school is “To enrich young minds with Vedic ideals and culture”. The school boasts an enrolment of 5,000 students and is managed by the DAV Group which includes 700 schools countrywide.
The kindergarten section is housed on a separate one and a half acre campus, while the primary and secondary sections are sited within three and four stories buildings. The school library displays a wide variety of books, journals, magazines and newspapers. Academic facilities include science, math, and computer and language labs. The auditorium-cum-assembly hall also serves as a venue for indoor games and houses a gymnasium. A resource centre, smart classrooms, conference rooms, science park, swimming pool, dispensary, canteen and counselling services are some of the other facilities in the school.
The school is affiliated with CBSE and offers education from pre-nursery to class XII. In accordance with CBSE norms, the school has introduced the CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) assessment system from classes VI to IX.
The School has implemented the CCE System of school-based evaluation for classes IX to XII, to ensure a holistic assessment of a student, covering not only the scholastic subjects, but also the co-scholastic areas such as life skills, values and performance in art, music, dance, sports and other cultural activities.
The School follows the CCE pattern in classes IX and X in accordance to the CBSE curriculum and guidelines, including the promotion rules, through the NCERT study material.
The students of Classes XI and XII have a choice of three streams- science, commerce and humanities with the following five subject combinations; science (medical), science (engineering), commerce (with mathematics), commerce (without mathematics) and humanities.
Extracurricular: Various extracurricular activities and hobbies classes are organized by the school in science, art and culture.

Internet Wi-FiThe school follows the admission guidelines and directions of the Delhi education department. Application forms are available at the school office on working days. For admission into preschool, the applicant must be three years old. Annually the school admits 500 children in preschool.
Fees: The annual fee of the school is Rs.10,000-12,000.
The principal of the school, the visionary leader Mrs. Heemal Handoo Bhat was a proud recipient of State Teacher’s Award 2020 from Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi.
The Principal was also awarded the ‘Principal of the Year Award 2020’ by the ‘International Education Symposium and Awards’, for the positive initiatives and contributions of Hansraj Model School, towards building up a nation with a strong and an open education system where knowledge is accessible to all.
The school earned the coveted third position in the Times School Survey 2020.
A certificate of recognition was issued to the school by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for successfully organizing the Fit India School Week 2020.
