Overview

The SCMS Cochin School of Business (formerly School of Communication and Management Studies) is a private management institute located at Kochi. The school was established in 1976 by Dr. G. P. C. Nayar with funding from the Prathap Foundation for Education and Training. The school’s mission is to develop globally competent and socially responsible business leaders through innovative education system.

Campus

The wi-fi enabled school campus boasts a well-stocked library featuring a vast collection of 22,701 books, 1,256 bound volumes, CDs, videos and students’ project reports in management and allied areas. SCMS hosts well-equipped computer labs includes more than 600 PCs with a peak load of more than 1000 nodes, three labs with 400 systems, a wi-fi campus and six wi-fi hostels, a language lab and 22 MBPS broadband internet connection providing 24x7 hi-speed internet connectivity for students.

SCMS Cochin offers the following 2 year AICTE approved full time programmes: PGDM (Post-Graduate Diploma in Management) - 240 Seats General Management - 180 Seats Retailing & Merchandising - 60 Seats PGDM (Post-Graduate Diploma in Management) 30 Seats General Management - 30 Seats Extra-curricular activities SCMS focuses on all-round personality development, and provides special sports and games facilities. Intra and inter institutional matches give students ample opportunities to exhibit their talents and skills.

Admission

Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Full Time Eligibility An applicant should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university with aggregate 50 percent marks. Candidates appearing for final year degree examination can also apply. Selection Process: MAT by AIMA, ATMA by AIMS, CMAT by AICTE, XAT by XLRI and CAT by IIMs: A score of 50 percent or above is the minimum eligibility for admission. Group Discussion & Personal Interview All qualified students will be called for group discussion and personal interview. Full Time - Fee Structure Full time students need to pay a sum of 1,25,000/- per trimester as tuition fee. All prospective candidates are expected to submit the filled up application forms on or before the last date notified by the school.

SCMS-Cochin is a world-class B-school accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes (ACBSP), US. SCMS-COCHIN is the first business school in India to receive ISO certification for QUALITY TEACHING SYSTEM IN MANAGEMENT, and is still certified under ISO 9001:2008 by RINA.
