Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie is a co-educational day and residential school affiliated with the Delhi based Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Promoted in 1888, it is one of India’s oldest educational institutions with around 700 students on its rolls, out of which 550 are boarders. The school is sited amidst the Garhwal Hills at an altitude of 2003 metres above sea level in Mussoorie.
According to a school spokesperson, “The purpose of education at Wynberg-Allen is to train young people for responsible citizenship in an epoch that is witnessing bewildering and unparalleled challenge. The future of any nation depends on the character of its people. Wynberg-Allen seeks to send forth a steady stream of such men and women who will enrich the nation and serve the world. This can only be as they are imbued with a sense of dedication to God, devotion to duty, and a desire to serve whatever be their vocation.”
The school is sited amidst the Garhwal Hills in Mussoorie, popularly known as the Queen of Hills. The school campus boasts well equipped science and computer laboratories, bright and spacious classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids, an audio-visual room, a well-stocked library, a state-of-the-art auditorium, an indoor heated swimming pool, a large playing field where the school hosts various inter-school sporting events, a skating rink, a basketball court and a spacious gymnasium.
The junior school has a three-storied health centre where two qualified nurses are always present to take care of health ailments of the children.
Affiliated with CISCE, the Wynberg-Allen School offers classes from I-XII and prepares the students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E.) and Indian School Certificate (I.S.C.) examinations at classes X and XII respectively. The school academic year runs from March to November.
Extracurricular: The Wynberg- Allen School places emphasis on holistic development and encourages extra and co-curricular activities. Dance, drama, elocution, spelling bee, athletics and sports like football, basketball, cricket, skating, etc. are encouraged. The school runs several clubs like photography, web designing, card making, marbling, Rangoli, knitting, flower making, science for fun, tie and dye, and mosaic to name a few.
The children are taken on excursions, hikes and educational tours from time to time. Educational and suitable feature films are also screened at regular intervals.

SportsThe official application form, attached with the prospectus, must be completed and submitted along with the non-refundable registration fee. The transfer certificate from the previous school and a certified copy of the birth certificate needs to be submitted at the time of admission.
Admissions, where vacancies exist, are made on the basis of performance in the entrance examination/personal interview. New admissions are not made to classes X and XII. After examining the child, the principal reserves the right to admit the child into the class deemed suitable for him/her. For admission to class I, the student should be six years of age, at least by the beginning of the academic year. The last date for registration for day scholars is September 15 and for boarders, the last date for registration is September 30.

The school considers the boarding house as an extension of formal education. Its purpose is not only to provide shelter and food to out-station students, but also to provide opportunity for practical community living. The community life in the boarding house demands certain rules and regulations for the maintenance of discipline and order. Boarding House rules are kept to a minimum, and the students and their parents are expected to respect and obey them strictly.
