Overview

National Public School (NPS), Rajajinagar is a co-educational day school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Established in 1959 by Dr. K.P. Gopalakrishna, NPS Rajajinagar is the oldest member of the NPS family in Bangalore.

The school boasts a rare honour of being granted autonomy by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and has more than 1800 students on its rolls, from Montessori to class XII.

Campus

The school campus hosts 50 spacious classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids, an audio-visual room, a resource room to facilitate better learning, and a well stocked library with a seating capacity of over 150 and a collection of over 15,000 volumes comprising text-books, reference books, fiction titles, periodicals, CDs and DVDs.

The school also offers a spacious indoor auditorium with a seating capacity of 700, a computer lab with 100 systems with internet connectivity, an audio-visual room, a digital classroom with a smart board,  well equipped science and math laboratories, an art room, a language room, music room, a resource room with models, picture cards and text cards for group discussions and extended learning, a toy room with colorful and eco-friendly toys, a yoga room and a health center with basic first-aid facility.

Academics

National Public School, Rajajinagar, is affiliated with CBSE and offers a diverse and specialised curriculum, designed to help the child develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Computer Science is offered as an optional subject to students at the senior secondary level. At primary and middle school level, students are trained to use computers with focus on application software like picture maker, logo and paint. They are also trained to use MS-Office applications like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point, MS-Front Page and Flash. Secondary school students are introduced to hardcore programming through object-oriented programming language C++, Visual Basic and Web Designing.

Extracurricular:

NPS Rajajinagar hosts seminars, symposiums, discussions, publications, dramatics, public speaking and other activities to facilitate learning beyond the classroom, for an overall intellectual, psychological and social growth.

The school also promotes extracurricular activities such as yoga, Tae-kwon-do, aerobics, music, dance, tabla, art, craft and calligraphy. Sports activities include chess, basketball and football.

Admission

From the second week of October, parents can download the admission application from the school website.

The duly filled in form needs to be submitted along with the following documents by the end of December:

– Copy of birth certificate

– Copy of previous 3 years academic progress report from the previous school (applicable to grade II and above)

– Demand Draft for Rs.300/- in favor of National Public School, Bangalore

– Duly filled in application to be submitted on working days between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm
