Overview

Gundecha Education Academy, Kandivali East (GEA) is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and offers classes from playgroup to class XII. It was promoted in June 2004 by Gundecha Charities under the leadership of Paras Gundecha.  

GEA aims at providing quality education in a facilitative, challenging and positive environment that enables the students to realize their full potential and takes care of their intellectual, physical, psychological and ethical wellbeing and empowering them to be responsible global citizens.

Campus

The 2.2 acre GEA campus hosts 52 bright, airy and IT enabled classrooms and 12 laboratories for different disciplines / activities; the library features 17,513 books, besides latest periodicals and newspapers. The campus also houses a dance room, music room, tabla room and edutainment room.

The school has a well reputed counseling department run by the Head HR staffed with two counselors, two special educators and two remedial teachers. The Human Resource Department also provides a large array of support services such as counseling, remediation, and training and development which includes teacher appraisal, language development, career guidance and Rill to River program. GEA also offers a well equipped first aid room with full time nurses, canteen facility for staff and students that provides fresh healthy and nutritious vegetarian and Jain snacks and meals at reasonable rates.

Academics

GEA is affiliated with CISCE and offers classes from playgroup to class XII. It follows a blend of various teaching models at the primary level to maximize the learning outcomes.

The school has partnered with Eureka and Waterford Early Learning Programmes for the teaching-learning process to ensure holistic education for its students.

Extracurricular:
Integration of extra-curricular activities such as Erehwon (writing skill and lateral thinking skills programme), Robotics, Financial Quotient, Art 1st (creative expression through art) etc. into the curriculum assists in going beyond the curriculum and ensuring that there is 100 percent participation in all the events, thereby giving every child an opportunity to become a winner.

Apart from regular field trips and picnics, the school participates in student exchange programmes with schools in UK and Japan andseven theme based activities are conducted to add an international dimension to the school curriculum for the British Council International School Awards (ISA).

General Information

Admission

One month before the issue of admission forms (usually September / October), a notice is put up on the school notice board and on the school website regarding date of issue of admission forms, eligibility and documents to be submitted. Once the duly filled admission form and necessary documents are submitted, the school admission committee selects candidates as per the admission criteria.

Preference is given to the candidates whose siblings are studying in the school and/or are permanent residents of Valley of Flowers or are permanent residents in the locality where the school is sited.

Fees:
The maximum annual fee is Rs. 46,260 and the minimum fee is Rs. 31,658; the fee on the class/grade.
