Overview

Jodhamal Public School is a co-educational, English medium senior secondary school affiliated with the Delhi based Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Promoted by the R.B. Jodhamal Group, one of the oldest business groups in Jammu & Kashmir, Jodhamal Public School was founded in keeping with the vision of Rai BahadurJodha Mal Kuthiala (1883-1961).

According to a school spokesperson, “The Jodhamal Public School has been built on the sound edifice of traditional wisdom and futuristic thought. We believe that in the highly competitive world of the 21st century, it is as essential to develop innovative knowledge, as it is to imbue traditional values. It is these guiding principles that have been instrumental in developing the education and training model of the school.”

Campus

Sited on a six-acre campus on the Channi Himmat hillock in Jammu, the campus boasts a built-up area of 170,000 sq. ft, designed by well-known architects Vijay Gupta & Associates, housing a three-storey main block featuring 80 well-ventilated classrooms, a sound-proof multi-purpose hall with a seating capacity for 1,800 and a 600-seat amphitheatre. Academic facilities include four computer science, maths, V-sat and phonetics labs; a well-stocked library housing 30,000 titles; and separate rooms for music, dance, art and painting studies. The school has also signed up for Educomp’s Smart Class programme.

Games and sports facilities include a half Olympic size swimming pool, football/cricket ground, basketball court, aerobics studio, handball, martial arts, skating rink facilities, athletics field, badminton court, and table tennis room.

Admission

Admission forms for pre-primary, primary and middle school admissions are available online. Details on the admission process can be obtained from the school office.

For admissions into other classes against vacancies, students are required to write an entrance test. Admission forms are issued in the month of January.
