GD Goenka Public School (GDGPS), Vasant Kunj was founded in 1994 by eminent businessman and visionary A.K. Goenka to commemorate the memory of his mother Late Gayatri Devi. It is an English medium co-educational senior secondary school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, and managed by the GR Goenka Education Society. The school maintains a high teacher-student ratio of 1:18 to facilitate individual attention to each child.
Sprawling over 3.82 acres, the school has a unique V-shaped building comprising 60 air-conditioned classrooms, a reception hall, a science lab, a computer lab, an art studio, an auditorium, staff rooms, cafeteria, fitness centre, a medical centre with 6 beds and qualified doctor and nurse. The school offers a fully computerized library with 29,000 books and 300 electronic resources.
The school is affiliated with CBSE and offers classes from nursery to class XII. The school boasts consistently good results in the board exams with many students securing distinctions in all subjects. Students of GDGPS, Vasant Kunj have topped the Commerce stream twice in Delhi in the CBSE class XII board exams (AISSCE). Many students have also bagged merit certificates from CBSE for being among the top 0.1 percent in specific subjects at all India level.
Extracurricular: GDGPS students are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities such as music, dance, drama, art and craft. Sports activities include athletics, gymnastics, volleyball, basket ball, table tennis, cricket, swimming and taekwondo.
