Founded in 1990, GD Salwan Public School, New Delhi is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Salwan Education Trust (estb. in 1941) has been committed to educational excellence for over four decades and runs ten prestigious schools in and around New Delhi. The trust was established by Late Shri Giridhar Lal Salwan.

The volleyball team of GD Salwan Public School brought laurels to the school at Delhi School Sports and Cultural Activities Zone-28 held from August 30 – September 3, 2013. GD Salwan Public School has been awarded for the innovative project "Heritage Studies -Transforming Integrated Pedagody" in the all India competition on innovative practices and experiments, by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
