Abhinav Vidyalay High School, Pune is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). Founded in 1973 by eminent educationist and visionary Late Shri Krishnaji Bhaskar Virkar, the school is managed by the Adarsha Shikshan Mandali, Pune and is ranked amongst the most reputed educational institutions in Maharashtra.
The academic block is a four-storied building with large and well ventilated classrooms. Each floor has separate washrooms for girls and boys. A newly contructed block houses an auditorium, a science lab and a gymnasium. The campus also hosts a math laboratory, a well stocked fully computerized library and a separate reading room with excellent collection of reference books, CD and audio visual aids for the students and teachers. The school also has a well equipped sports complex.
The observatory board displays weather forecast, along with the details of the date, day and month to make the students aware of the changes in the atmosphere.
The school also employs a clinical psychologist to cater to students with emotional or behavioral problems. Remedial teaching is also provided to those who have learning difficulties.
The school follows the syllabus prescribed by the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Marathi language is introduced from class I onwards. Marathi workbooks are devised by the teachers of Abhinav Vidyalay themselves by taking into consideration the language proficiency of non-Maharashtrian students.
The school conducts academic audits to ensure smooth transition in syllabi between two classes, to measure teachers’ performances and to achieve higher goals. The school also conducts regular teachers training programs and workshops to upgrade the faculty’s teaching skills and to help them utilize tools and educational resources required to meet the demands of education in future.
