The Aditya Birla Education Trust (ABET) has been inducted as a core member of the Impact Action Council under the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA)—a global collective of leading organizations and changemakers committed to high-impact action for people, planet, peace, and progress. ABET now joins an elite circle of 27 global institutions, including the Gates Foundation, UBS, Wellcome Trust, and the Rockefeller Foundation, united in accelerating progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
PAA brings together over 80 mission-driven organizations, fostering partnerships that drive innovation, scale solutions, and share knowledge across borders. As part of the Impact Action Council, ABET will collaborate with global peers to amplify its efforts in mental health, menstrual equity, and inclusive education.
ABET has been a pioneer in tackling social stigma through its flagship initiative, Mpower, which has reached over 180 million people across India with mental health services, advocacy, and awareness since 2016.
At the recent PAA Summit, Mrs. Neerja Birla, Chairperson of ABET, joined a high-level panel alongside Smt. Smriti Irani, Minister of Women & Child Development, and Belinda Tanoto of the Tanoto Foundation. The discussion explored the intersection of mental health, education, and gender equity, with Mrs. Birla sharing ABET’s grassroots insights and policy engagement strategies.
“We’re honoured to join the Impact Action Council,” said Mrs. Neerja Birla. “This recognition reinforces our mission to address deeply linked issues like mental health, period poverty, and quality education. Through this global platform, we hope to co-create transformative, inclusive solutions that uphold human dignity worldwide.”
