Air Force Bal Bharati School (AFBBS), Delhi, is a coeducational day cum residential school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, offering education under the 10+2 scheme of education.
The school was founded on July 15, 1955 by the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society with the aim of serving the children of Air Force Personnel posted in the National Capital Region. The initial strength of the AFBBS was 116 students and 6 staff members and it was housed in war time barracks. Over the years, it grew into a full-fledged senior secondary school offering educational to over 3300 students from diverse backgrounds.
AFBBS functions under the aegis of Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society as a recognized, unaided private school. The school also complies with the rules and regulations as prescribed in Delhi School Education Act and Rules 1973.
The school hosts a large playground, a multi function hall, a fully equipped mini auditorium, and labs for biology, biotechnology, chemistry and math. The school campus also houses a computer lab with projectors, interactive board and software for all subjects, a medical infirmary, an audio visual room, a sports complex, music and art block, a canteen and a Bank of Baroda branch.
The school offers CBSE curriculum and provides education from UKG to class XII. Digital learning has been introduced, and the senior classes are equipped with interactive boards, LCD projector and class wise, subject wise software.
The junior classes are offered an additional computer lab for digital learning.
In classes XI and XII, students can opt between Science, Commerce and Humanities streams.
Extracurricular
Co-curricular activities include computer science, art, handicraft, paper craft, clay modeling, music and creative dance. Physical education is compulsory for all students. Coaching is provided for hockey, football, cricket, gymnastics, skating, horseriding, basketball, badminton, athletics and chess. Students can also participate in the Eco Club, Interact Club and Aeromodelling Club.

For admission, priority is given to children of Air Force personnel. However, there are a reasonable number of seats available for Non Air Force (NAF) Category students as well.
Procedure:
Registration takes place in December – January and the minimum age for admission to UKG is 4 + years as on March 31 of the year of admission. The admission process is based on policies and guidelines issued by the Government of NCT Delhi.
For classes I to X, NAF category admissions are done subject to availability of seats and registration takes place in March-April. Admission is through an entrance test for classes IX and X and completion of other formalities, such as furnishing of Transfer Certificate and mark sheet from the previous school.
All admissions are completed on or before July 31. In exceptional cases, where Central Government Employees with transferrable service, arrive on posting to Delhi after July 31 of a year, admission may be considered with prior approval of competent authority, subject to availability of vacancies.
In 1995, AFBBS was judged the Best School in Delhi. AFBBS received ISO 9001-2000 certification in 1995.
The school also offers hostel facility to its students.
