Overview

Amrita School of Business (ASB), Coimbatore earlier known as Amrita Institute of Management, foundedin 1996 by the Mata Amritanandamayee Math, is a constituent institue of Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, a multi-campus university. The school offers fully residential two year MBA degree programme besides a dual degree programme for working professionals at Bangalore campus which leads to an MS in Information Technology and MBA in collaboration with State University of New York at Buffalo. ASB was ranked 18th among private B-Schools across India by Career360 in 2011. It was also ranked No.41 among all the B-Schools across India including IIMs by Business Today, ACNielsen Survey in 2012. The Training and Placement Cell of the institute provides employment opportunities to graduating students through campus recruitment in leading companies.

Campus

ASB campus sprawls over 330 acres hosting modern infrastructure and amenities for over 2500 students. The institute library features a collection of 13,000 books, 187 current journals, 6300 e-journals and various CDs and DVDs. Other facilities include computer lab with more than 150 computers, separate hostels for girls and boys, air-conditioned convention centre with a seating capacity of 600, multiple auditoriums, e-learning studio, canteen, medical facility and bank. Sports facilities include two cricket pitches, a football ground, four tennis courts, a volleyball court, a basket ball court, a badminton court, a swimming pool, indoor games like carom, table tennis and chess and a multi-station gymnasium.

ASB offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), a two year full time post graduate programme. This course offers following specializations: Finance Human Resource Management Information Systems Operations Management

General Information

Admission

For admission to the MBA programme, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks. For those who aspire to get enrolled in the MBA-MS programme at Bangalore campus, IBT-TOEFL score of 79 is a must. Candidates need to clear any of the standardized tests - CAT, GMAT, XAT, GRE and MAT. Short-listed candidates will be called for a group discussion and personal interview. Fees: The approximate fee for the MBA course is Rs.8,00,000.

Achievement

Accommodation

ASB provide separate hostels for boys and girls. It hosts seven hostel complexes with single room occupancy and dispensary with a qualified doctor.
