Overview

Founded in 1994 by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is situated in the village of Ettimadai. It provides value-based education and a unique educational experience that is at par with global standards. A deemed-to-be university, it has been ranked 4th in the country by NIRF. It has also been awarded Institution of Eminence by UGC and accredited with the highest grade of ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Headed by Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P. Venkat Rangan, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has 15 schools across 5 campuses (Coimbatore, Amritapuri, Cochin, Bangalore, and Mysore) and offers 207-degree programs, in a variety of disciplines, such as Engineering, Business, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Ayurveda (ancient Indian study of medicine), Biotechnology, Arts and Sciences, Education, Communication /Journalism and Social Work at the UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. Campus

The 400-acre campus is well planned with infrastructures like academic buildings, administration wing, central library, hostels, guest house, staff-quarters, shopping complex, swimming pool and playgrounds. The campus has a built-up area of over 28 lakhs sq. feet linked by 7 km black topped roads and boasts of an Olympic-size swimming pool for students, staff and others on the campus. Two power-houses are installed with a total generating capacity of 1660 KVA to meet the shortage in power supply. Amrita also provides uninterrupted power and round the clock water supply.

Academics

B.Tech programmes offered at Amrita School of Engineering (Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore) is based on the rank scored in Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering (AEEE) Centre Based Test or Remote Proctored Examination (CBT or RPE) or JEE Mains 2021 or SAT or Pearson UG Entrance Examination Score (PUEE). For admission to the engineering course, selection to the B.Tech programme is based on the rank scored in AEEE 2021 / JEE Mains 2021 / SAT 2021 Score/ PUEE Score. If JEE Mains is conducted multiple times, all the scores released prior to the Amrita B.Tech. CSAP (Centralised Seat Allotment Process) will be looked into and the best result considered. General Information

Admission

Selection to the B.Tech programme is based on the rank scored in AEEE 2021 / JEE Mains 2021 / SAT 2021 Score/ PUEE Score. If JEE Mains is conducted multiple times, all the scores released prior to the Amrita B.Tech. CSAP (Centralised Seat Allotment Process) will be looked into and the best result considered. Important Note: An applicant can participate in CSAP with any of the above rank/scores. The most preferred branch opted by the candidate is allotted according to the rank/score. For example, if an applicant’s first preference is Computer & Communication Engineering at the Chennai campus, the seat allotment process will check if this first preference can be allotted with any of the PUEE Score /JEE Mains score/AEEE rank. Conduct of AEEE 2021 AEEE 2021 will be conducted in online mode with Remote Proctoring & in Computer Based Test mode at selected cities. The test will be of 90 minutes duration with 60 questions. • All the questions are of Multiple-Choice type and will have four answers of equal weightage. 3(three) marks are awarded for each correct answer and minus 1(negative 1) for each wrong answer.
• Total questions: 60
• Physics: 15; Chemistry: 10; Mathematics: 30 ; English 5
• Duration: 90 minutes (1.5 hours)

AEEE will be conducted in three phases in the month of April, June and July 2021

• The first phase of AEEE will be conducted on April 17 and 18, 2021 ((RPE (Secured))
• The second phase is scheduled on June 11 and 14, 2021 [CBT & RPE]
• The third phase will held be by the end of June/beginning of July 2021
• Applicants interested to reappear in second/third Phase of AEEE exam need to register with paying Rs 600.

Are the multiple sessions at AEEE 2021 useful?

• This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in one attempt.
• In the first attempt, the students will get a firsthand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the next time.
• This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.
• If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait.
• A candidate need not appear in all three Sessions. However, if the candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the 2021 AEEE Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking

Remote Proctored Examination (Secured)  Remote Proctored Examination can be attended from home on a laptop/PC with good internet connectivity. It is important to have a webcam connected to the computer. The examination will be proctored remotely by the university staff. Centre Based Test (CBT)  Centre Based Test (CBT) will be conducted only in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Telangana states. University will take all precautionary measures to ensure social distancing at examination centres and will have a proper disinfection system in place.
