Apeejay Stya University, Sohna, Haryana was promoted in 2010 by the Apeejay Education Society (AES) which was started in 1967 by Late Dr. Stya Paul as a private educational society. The university was established under Act No. 10 of the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act 2010.
The university is recognised by the UGC and is among the select universities recognised by the International Association of Universities (IAU). Apeejay Stya University is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Association of Indian Universities and recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India and All India Association of Educational Research.
The mission of Apeejay Stya University is to take potential minds and propel them towards greatness, to explore and expand the human knowledge base, to deepen the understanding of the human condition, fostering universal values while being rooted in the Indian experience and to do public good, and benefit society and the country as a whole.
The university campus hosts 75 spacious, well-lit, and airy classrooms, IT-enabled lecture rooms, conference halls, computer and science labs, hostels, library, cafeteria, and sports facilities for outdoor and indoor games.

The campus hosted two separate hostels for boys and girls which accommodate 155 boys and 105 girls. The hostels offer single and double occupancy rooms depending on availability, student seniority and merit. The hostel amenities include well-furnished rooms, 24 hour electricity, room coolers, RO water supply, hot water, provision for indoor and outdoor games, Wi-Fi connectivity to all rooms and special access to the library and computer lab during non working hours.
