AVG Corporation partners with AISECT for free skills training of unemployed youth

April 27, 2018

According to official sources on April 25, total Logistics Solutions major AV Global Corporation Pvt. Ltd. (AVG) has launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project called ‘Aatmanirbhar’ to provide free-of-cost skills training to the country’s unemployed youth. For the implementation of this CSR Project, AVG has partnered with AISECT – India’s leading social enterprise in the sphere of skill development and employment-linked education. Open to class 12 pass youth between 18 and 25 years of age, Aatmanirbhar will be a long-term training programme with multiple batches across various locations.
“After completing 10 successful years in the industry, we decided it was time to do our bit for the society. That’s how our CSR division came into being this year,” says Vijay Mehta, managing director, AVG.

Tanisha Mehta (CSR Head, AVG) adds, “Aatmanirbhar is our pilot initiative. We started our CSR programme with this project as skill development is a cause very close to our hearts. With just three months of training, we can change the life of an individual and people around him. With AISECT as our partners, we are sure we can leverage their expertise in the field of education and benefit at least 240 candidates every year.”

The first training centre under this initiative has been established at Madangir Village in South Delhi, where training has already commenced. This state-of-the-art training centre currently offers technical training of three months duration for the job role of Data Entry Operator. The curriculum also includes modules on life skills, personality development, communication skills, etc. Training is being provided in two batches – morning and evening – with lean groups of maximum 30 students. AISECT aims to train up to 240 candidates at the centre within a year and get at least 70 percent of them successfully placed.

Commenting on the CSR initiative, Abhishek Pandit (director-Business Services, AISECT) said, “Aatmanirbhar is a very ambitious project with several promising prospects. Being a private undertaking, it will ensure quality training pedagogy in a state-of-the-art learning atmosphere. The course curriculum will be at par with the government guidelines for skill development programmes and we will offer credible certifications to enrolled candidates post the successful completion of the training.”

At the end of the training programme, candidates will be assessed and provided with NASSCOM certification. All the candidates enrolled in the Aatmanirbhar programme will be provided with free reading materials, bags and stationary items.

Following the launch of the maiden training centre, AISECT and AVG are planning to launch several more training centres in Delhi in the near future under the Aatmanirbhar project.
