Named after the chairman and founder of the Hero Group, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, BML Munjal University (BMU), Gurgaon aims to groom entrepreneurs who are ready for the industry from day one after graduating. BML Munjal University (BMU) seeks to transform higher education in India by creating a world class and innovative teaching, learning and research environment. Promoted by the Hero Group and mentored by Imperial College London, BMU is a not-for-profit initiative offering undergraduate and post-graduate courses. BMU aims at nurturing the spirit of enquiry, creativity, problem solving, entrepreneurship and innovation.
BMU Gurgaon’s 50 acre fully residential campus has been designed to integrate academic spaces with recreational hang-outs. The objective is to encourage interaction among students, and build up the spirit of community living and learning. At BMU, students learn to interact with other students in student societies, debating clubs, and sporting facilities. The campus offers recreational clubs, fitness and sporting facilities. Besides indoor sporting facilities, the campus also hosts tennis, volleyball, basketball, and badminton courts; a gym and a cricket-cum-football field. Qualified and experienced sports instructors are at hand to oversee the sports programmes and guide the budding sportsperson.
BMU strives to ensure its students imbibe three key values while they pursue the programmes of their choice at the university campus - the intellectual curiosity to inquire, the personal capability to inspire, and demonstrate the commitment to deliver positive social impact. These values have been integrated into the curricula by working with leading “thinkers” and “practitioners” in India and around the world. These values have been made practical by involving industry in curriculum design, internships, projects and placements, and by engaging student minds with social purpose through research and hands-on projects. Consequently, BMU students will spend between 20 to 35 percent of their total contact hours in hands-on learning, including internships. Each programme (BTech, MBA, BBA and BCom (Hons)) is designed to include a rich mix of foundation courses, core courses, elective courses, perspective courses and skill courses. The university presently offers BBA, B Tech, B Com, MBA and PhD programmes.
