Overview

Baldwin Boys’ High School, sited at Richmond Town in Bangalore is a K-10 English medium boys day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi since 1970. The school is managed by the South India Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India, and is under the chairmanship of Bishop Dr. Taranath Sagar.

Baldwin Boys’ High School is named after its benefactor, a philanthropist, John Baldwin of Bera, Ohio, USA, who started six educational institutions, the last of which were the Baldwin Schools.

It currently boasts a student’s strength of about 3000 and 120 well-qualified teachers. Boarding facilities are available for 200 students within the school premises.

Campus

The school is centrally located in Richmond Town on Hosur Road, Bangalore amidst sylvan surroundings. The school buildings are ergonomically designed, and showcase a combination of ancient and modern architecture, aesthetic and pristine. The school campus houses a playground with attached indoor sporting facilities, vast pavilion and a swimming pool. There are separate buildings for kindergarten, junior and senior school each designed to suit the requirements of these three age groups. The classrooms are large and well ventilated, equipped with audio-visual aids.

The school campus also hosts a food court, which serves hygienically prepared delicacies to students. Facilities for indoor sports, well equipped computer lab, and a well stocked spacious library are also provided by the school.

Academics

Baldwin Boys’ High school is affiliated With CISCE and offers classes from kindergarten to class XII. The school offers the following disciplines as a sixth subject: 1. Commercial Studies 2. Economics 3. Physical Education 4. Computer Science. Students in their early years, i.e. kindergarten are taught creatively through activities, worksheets, sports, dance, music etc. At the higher level, the school curriculum offers a blend of academic as well as non-academic activities and projects in Science and Humanities. Teaching and learning is enhanced through technology driven aids such as smart boards.

Transport facilities are available for the children through the schools’ own transport system.

Extracurricular

The school promotes co-curricular activities such as debates, elocution, dramatics, environmental studies, music and projects in science and humanities. Sports such as football, hockey, basketball, athletics, swimming and cricket are also encouraged
