Bengaluru: Class 4 student dies; parents register complaint against school

Parents of a 9-year-old student in Bengaluru who collapsed and died later have registered a complaint with the police, suspecting negligence on part of the school.

The incident took place on Friday last week when the class-4 student collapsed in her school, and parents were informed regarding the same. She was rushed to the hospital only to be pronounced as dead-on arrival.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death. The girl’s postmortem report is awaited to ascertain the cause of death according to the police.

The police said the child had collapsed in her classroom at around 1.30 pm on Friday after which she was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The girl’s father suspected foul play and has registered a complaint to have an investigation into the sudden death of the child.

The police are also ascertaining whether there was no negligence on part of the school and whether there was a delay in seeking medical help after her health deteriorated.
