Billabong High International School, Thane is a K-12, English medium, co-educational school. It is affiliated with the New Delhi-based Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) as well as the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK. It offers students a choice between the ICSE exam at class X or the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). At the Plus Two level it offers the A level qualification.

The school is promoted by the Citizens Welfare Association (estb.2000), a public trust registered and managed by Sudhir Goenka and Sandeep Goenka. The school’s advisory board comprises eminent personalities such as Tina Ambani, Ravi Shastri, Prahlad Kakkar, Keith Butler, Sonia Grinceri, Mitali Kakkar.

Campus

Billabong High International School, Thane offers state-of-art infrastructure to enhance the teaching and learning experience of students. Classrooms are air-conditioned and naturally lit. They are fitted with digital interactive boards with built-in teaching modules.

The school has a music room, two well-equipped libraries that facilitate research, sand area and a mini swimming pool for pre-schoolers, an audio-visual room fitted with LCD projector as well as a sick room and cafeteria. Computer, physics, chemistry and biology labs facilitate learning through exploration.

Other facilities include multi-purpose hall for cultural programmes, speech and drama room, a gym and dance room.

Academics

Billabong High International School, Thane is affiliated with the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) as well as the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK. Until class V, the school follows the CISCE curriculum. Thereafter students can choose between the national or international curriculum. Students write the class X ICSE exam or the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). At the Plus Two level it offers the A level qualification o CIE, UK.

The school curriculum is delivered by well-qualified and regularly trained teachers, supported with updated technology, educational trips, interaction with industry based professionals etc. While the syllabus for each grade is structured, teachers have the autonomy and flexibility to design the curriculum. Emphasis is laid on making students think critically, experiment and self-learn. Making projects, enacting role plays, group discussions, presentations etc are an integral part of the school’s teaching-learning methodology

Extracurricular:

Admission

Admissions are against vacancies and on first come first serve basis and forms are available at the school office. During the time of admission, the school requires the student’s photographs (three passport and one stamp size), birth certificate (original if seeking admission to pre-school-class I), school leaving certificate, school report cards, passport size photographs of each parent, self-addresses envelope, copy of passport and visa (in case of a foreign student). The entry level is playgroup.

For students seeking admission for grade III and above, there is a competency test in language and mathematics.
