Be it Elizabeth Alphonsa Dominic who learnt teamwork while preparing for college life or Maithily Nautiyal, a sixth grader, who improved English grammar and communication skills, British Council Summer School has a lot to offer to children from 7-14 years, enhancing communication, creativity and confidence. After coaching 1900 students in Delhi last year through engaging methodologies, British Council Summer School is back this vacation to literally make learning fun.
Children aged 7-14 years can spend their summer holidays discovering inner creativity, through a mixture of games, projects, drama and communicative activities at the British Council Summer School. The programme also encourage students to interact in pairs, small groups and whole class situations, improving their English fluency and confidence. The British Council believes that students learn a language best when they are having fun and using English in a context that is meaningful for them. These concepts are applied through a cycle of learning, practicing, revising and performing, to make learning fun, promoting learning from peers and teachers. The summer school encourages freedom of expression during highly interactive sessions in an extremely safe and conducive environment for kids.

This year will run two themes during Summer School: Explorers (through a virtual trip around the world, children will travel to one city each day, learn about different cultures, develop language skills and build confidence) and Media Magic (children will explore communication channels such as the radio, television and the internet. They learn how to write blogs, create an advertisement and newspaper report). For over 75 years, the British Council, the world’s English experts have been delivering high-quality English courses to learners around the world and children will be under the guidance of globally-qualified teachers during Summer School.

British Council continually seeks to create opportunities for young people to succeed in India. Following this vision, Summer School 2018 aims at developing students’ speaking, writing, reading and listening skills, as well enhancing their grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, by engaging deeply with exciting courses that makes learning enjoyable and purposeful. On the last day of Summer School, parents are welcome to watch a presentation by their children.

Summer School is organised in four batches: for children aged 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years and 13-14 years. The first batch of Summer School 1: Explorers will begin on May 21, 2018, and end on June 1, 2018, and the second batch Summer School 2: Media Magic will begin on June 4, 2018 and end on June 15, 2018. The course duration is 30 hours on weekdays.
