IIT Bombay tops at QS India rankings 2020

The recently released QS India University Rankings 2020 has placed The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and IIT Delhi in the top three positions. Meanwhile, IIT Madras and IIT Kharagpur finished fourth and fifth, respectively. IIT Kanpur ranked sixth while IIT Roorkee (IITR) and IIT Guwahati (IITG) were placed in the ninth and tenth positions.

University of Delhi (DU) ranked 7, University of Hyderabad at 8 and Calcutta University (CU) at 11th rank. CU beat  Jadavpur University (JU), which is placed at number 12 and Jamia Milia Islamia has been ranked 21.

The QS India University Rankings are based on a number of parameters such as academic reputation, citations per paper, international faculty, international students, faculty staff with PhD, and employer reputation.

Earlier, IIT-Bombay had also bagged the first position among Indian institutes in the 2020 edition of the London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Graduate Employability Rankings. The reputed institute scored in the 111-120 range. Around 758 institutes have been ranked by the agency worldwide.
