Cambridge Public School students visit NASA on educational trip

Cambridge Public School, Bangalore managed in association with Pearson Schools, part of world’s leading learning company, Pearson, concluded a 12 day educational tour to NASA (Kennedy Space Centre) in Orlando, USA. The delegation comprising of 21 students from class 6 to 10 were accompanied by their teacher, Uma Venkataraman. The trip was designed keeping in mind the importance of an adequate mix of learning and recreation.
During their visit, students spent 10 days touring the facilities at Kennedy Space Center and interacting with NASA astronauts. They were briefed on space travel and were showcased the historic launch of Apollo 8 at the Firing Room theatre. Students also visited the IMAX theatre and got a chance to have space-flight experience, view the shuttle landing facility as well as gain deeper understanding of rocket science and propulsion.

Commenting on the trip, Judith Singh, principal of Cambridge Public School, said “We noticed an ever-growing interest among our students to pursue modern astronomy and hence an educational trip to NASA was planned. This trip provided a platform for children to explore their interest, enhance their potential and also encourage career prospects”.

Adding to this exploration and learning experience was the delightful visit to Disney’s theme park and Disney’s Magic Kingdom/Animal Kingdom thereby successfully creating a perfect balance between fun and learning.

Muskaan Khan, one of the students said, “NASA trip allowed us to expand our knowledge about the aspects of space that we have always been fascinated about. The practical side of our visit was very informative and the trip was a fun experience”.
