The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) officially added more than 550 new words this year which includes a range of colloquial terms, slangs, acronyms, and phrases. Some of the words that have been added to the dictionary are mentionitis, awesomesauce, safe space, shticky, chutzpadik, noonie, mouthie, couscoussier, Chicken Licken, guber, and next tomorrow.
While ‘Chutzpadik’ means very self-confident, ‘noonie’ refers to the female genitals, ‘mouthie’ means a person’s mouth, ‘awesomesauce’ means excellent, ‘next tomorrow’ means the day after tomorrow, and ‘shticky’ is gimmicky.

In 2019, OED announced ‘climate emergency’ as the word of the year. It was defined as “a situation in which urgent action is required to reduce or halt climate change and avoid potentially irreversible environmental damage resulting from it.”
