The curriculum of The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations is challenging and at par with other international curricula. The syllabus is continually reviewed and changes are incorporated if required. With increased globalisation, students are no longer bound by geographical boundaries. Students writing ISC examinations are well-equipped to take all competitive examinations.
The CISCE believes in maintaining high standards so that our students shine in every sphere. There is great emphasis on the development and testing of the thinking skills and creativity of students and the development of virtues such as empathy, concern, initiative, community service, gender equality and environment awareness.
Among the numerous initiatives of CISCE in recent years are:
- First school exam board to introduce environmental science as a subject in classes IX-XII.
- Performing arts are offered as examination subjects.
- To develop students’ research and analytical skills, project work introduced in class XI-XII in sociology, psychology, political science, geography, history, economics, commerce, accounts, physics, chemistry, biology, home science, fashion design, biotechnology, environmental science.
- Classes IX-X students are compulsorily obliged to study a skills-based development subject from among commercial, computer, economic, technical drawing applications.
- Flexibility in the choice of subjects across the boundaries of arts, commerce and science.
- Wide variety of optional subjects (combinations) to choose from class IX onward.
