CMS Lucknow to host 11th Children’s International Film Festival

City Montessori School (CMS) Lucknow is hosting the 11th edition of its annual Children’s International Film Festival from April 4-12, 2019.

By bringing together some of the best children’s films from about 100 countries each year, the festival opens up magical new worlds for young people.  For a period of nine days, it lights up the lives of children with fun and wonderment, fires up their imagination, and opens new vistas before them – exposing them to the cultures, tastes, values, joys and predicaments of children all around the world. While not overtly intended to be educative, the films inevitably are edifying and not only entertaining: they teach child audiences both about the wonderful diversity in the world and also about the similarity of human emotion/ experience across the world. So the young viewers learn about the oneness of humanity (vasudhaiv kutumbkam) in a subtle and beautiful way.

This fabulous ‘edutainment’ opportunity for around one lakh children of Lucknow also brings a large number of Bollywood film celebrities to add colour, jazz and glitter to this children’s event. An international jury consisting of film industry professionals from Denmark, Georgia and India, including three child-jury members, will decide on the best films that will share the Rs.10 lakh of prize money.
