Overview

DAV Girls Senior Secondary School, Mogappair, Chennai is an all girls day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Founded in 1994, the school belongs to the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System, also known as the D.A.V. Public Schools System, one of the largest non-governmental education societies in India based on the ideals of the religious and social reformer, Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The school offers education from pre primary to class XII where their aim is to empower children with excellence in education while focusing on character, attitude, skills, social and moral values. Moral Instruction based on Vedic philosophy forms an integral part of the school curriculum.

 

Campus

The 1.5 acre school campus hosts a library featuring a collection of about 5761 books, an auditorium, well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, computers, well-ventilated classrooms, a canteen, music room, dance room, an indoor games facility and playground with a play area of about 2360 square feet. The school also has an infirmary and a ramp to assist differently abled students.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE curriculum and offers classes from pre primary to class XII. The school abides by the philosophy and teaching methodology instituted by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic system of education. The school follows a teacher student ratio of 1:25 and classroom ratio of 1: 40.

Extracurricular

Extracurricular activities include music, dance, painting, drawing, art and craft, elocution, extempore, dramatics, debate and games.

Students are coached in basketball, volleyball, athletics, badminton, tennis, carrom, chess and throwball.
