DAV International School, Amritsar is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Founded in 1998, the school operates under the aegis of D.A.V. College Managing Committee. With student strength of nearly 5300, DAV International School, Amritsar offers education from Kindergarten through class XII.

The school’s objective is to ignite and unravel the dormant potential of children, kindle their curiosity to fathom the mysteries of the universe and create new knowledge while familiarising themselves with the existing one.

Campus

The school campus is spread over 8.5 acres hosting lush green lawns, academic and administrative blocks, junior and senior libraries, multimedia room, three well equipped science labs, four Wi-Fi connected computer labs, math lab, air-conditioned seminar hall, a separate block with play-pen for nursery students, AV room, 15 Smart Class rooms, art and craft room, a Yajna Shala and a National Integration rose park decked with 675 varieties of roses.

Other facilities include studio zone comprising a language studio, computer studio, math studio, music studio, sports studio, yoga studio, geography studio, art and craft studio, fitness studio, medical rooms, canteen, traffic park with sign board, open air theater and open air stadium.

Sports facilities include a skating rink, basketball court, yoga room, lawn tennis court, playgrounds for hockey, volleyball, football, kho-kho and cricket and play station for tiny tots.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE, the school offers education from Kindergarten to class XII. The school faculty and students get opportunities to visit schools in the UK, Singapore and US. DAV International School, Amritsar prepares students for the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

Achievement

Students of DAV International School, Amritsar have made the school proud in academics, sports and cultural activities alike. Last year, three DAVIANS were placed among the top 0.1 percent of merit holders in class XII CBSE examinations. One of the three students Riya Kalra topped the Medical Stream in Amritsar by securing 97.4 percent and stood second in the district.

The school is a recipient of the Green Award from the Centre for Science and Environment.

The school has been a recipient of the British Council International School Award twice in a row for the session 2006-09 and 2010-13.
