The Delhi government has directed all private unaided schools to conduct admissions for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories exclusively through a computerised draw of lots to ensure a transparent and tamper-proof process.
In a circular dated February 27, the Directorate of Education (DoE) emphasized that admissions for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 must be conducted entirely online, eliminating any manual interference. The move aims to promote fairness and equal opportunities for students from underprivileged backgrounds.
The DoE has cautioned against fraudulent claims by individuals or institutions falsely promising admissions under these categories. “Such claims are misleading, and the public is advised to avoid engaging with these illegal entities,” the circular stated. Parents are urged to report such activities to the official DoE email for strict legal action.
Additionally, all private unaided recognised schools have been warned against associating with any third-party agents claiming to influence admissions. The circular stated that strict action, including penalties or revocation of recognition, will be taken against schools found violating these directives.
By enforcing a fully automated admission process, the Delhi government aims to eliminate bias, favoritism, and corruption while ensuring equal educational opportunities for marginalized students.
For queries, applicants are encouraged to refer to the DoE website or contact the designated helpline. Parents have been advised to follow official procedures and avoid middlemen during the admission process.
