Established in 2003 under the guidance of the Delhi Public School Society, Delhi Public School, Amritsar is a co-educational English medium school offering education from nursery to class XII. It accepts day scholars as well as boarders. It follows the syllabus laid down by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
The lush green school campus spreads over 6 acres hosting a built-up area of 30,000 sq. ft. and a 2.5 acre playground. Other facilities include a science and computer lab, social science lab, audio visual lab, canteen, infirmary, book shop and a hostel. The school library is stocked with 5500 books, encyclopedia, magazines and newspapers.
The school is affiliated to the CBSE board. The First Language is English and students are allowed to choose between Hindi and Punjabi as the Second Language. Different methods of teaching are adopted for classes I – IV according to the age group. There are no formal examinations for students in these classes.
Students are encouraged to explore concepts through hands-on projects and activities.
Extracurriculars
The school offers a theatre-in-education programme. Students regularly practice music, dance, theatre, art and craft. The school also offers specially designed life skill activities through environment club, literary club and coloring club. Students are coached in public speaking, personality development, radio jockeying and cooking without fire. The sports activities offered include cricket, volleyball, basketball, football, hockey, lawn tennis, skating, karate, athletics, table tennis, carrom and chess. The school also offers international exchange programs.

Forms are available at the school reception from the third week of December for the next academic session. Candidates for pre-nursery, nursery and prep are called for an interaction with the teacher. Candidates for classes I to IX need to write an assessment which is held on specified dates in January, February and March. Selected candidates are called for an interview with the principal.
Fees
Admission fee for pre-nursery, nursery and prep is Rs.37,500 while the yearly fee is approximately Rs. 35,000.
