Delhi Public School (DPS), Mathura Refinery, is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school was established on August 12, 1986 as collaboration between the DPS Society and Mathura Refinery. The school aims at excellence in academics, sports, environmental development, moral upliftment and keen competitiveness.
DPS Mathura Refinery’s mission is to strive to maintain a congenial environment for learning wherein the students can grow and learn in a secure, creative and friendly environment, and mould them into responsible global citizens.
The school hosts two separate buildings – the main school building and the nursery section. It houses fully equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, social studies, math, language and computer science.
The school hosts a well-stocked library with a reference room and resource center with internet connectivity. The school hosts well designed spacious rooms for music, dance and art, for the students to pursue cultural activities.
The nursery section houses classrooms for nursery to class II, a well-equipped toy room and a music and art room. The sports infrastructure includes facilities for athletics, basketball, cricket, football, badminton, tennis and yoga.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum and offers education from nursery through class XII. The school gives personalized attention to both low and high achievers along with counseling and career orientation programs.
Students are sensitized to various issues such as child abuse, HIV-AIDS, care of the elderly, global warming and other environmental issues. Regular in-service teacher training programs are conducted under the aegis of the DPS Society and CBSE for the professional growth of teachers.
Prizes and certifications are presented as motivation to meritorious students. The school holds monthly parent-teacher meetings for regular communication between parents/teachers regarding the child’s progress and achievements.
Extracurricular
The school lays emphasis on co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as debates, dramatics, field trips, camps, excursions and NCC. Public speaking and personality development sessions are conducted to make the students effective communicators. Students are offered opportunities to learn music, dance and art. They are coached in athletics, basketball, cricket, football, badminton, tennis and yoga.
