Language Week: In an increasingly globalised world, it is important to inculcate respect and appreciation for different languages in the impressionable young minds. At Delhi Public School, Vadodara, students are offered a choice of English, Hindi, Gujarati and Sanskrit. The Language Week is organised to encourage the students to enjoy the nuances of languages by engaging in various activities.

English Week: The English Language Week, organised from August 24 to September 4, 2022, sought to rekindle passion for reading in the children. Fairy tales, science fiction, and classics adorned the soft boards. Each class displayed the entire story through sketches along with the relevant write up. The story boards gave the students a glimpse into the literary world at one go. Book mark making, slogan writing, book cover making kept the students busy. As poetry is music and music touches the hearts, Voice of the Rain – a poem by Walter Scott was beautifully presented in the form of a classical dance. ‘Graffiti’ an activity organised for higher classes saw maximum participation. The student artists were seen engrossed in designing the murals with slogans and visuals on topics related to social awareness.

Science Week: During the Science Week, a plethora of activities were conducted during the special assemblies. Quizzes, presentation of articles, magic with science stole the heart of the students. Biological concepts were never made more interesting and more captivating than they were in the Science Week. Students also made a unique rangoli depicting the anatomy.

Mathematics Week: The Mathematics Week ensured maximum participation of the students by engaging them in making a giant pyramid. Each student made a small pyramid and all the tiny pyramids were stacked up to make a giant one. Quiz on ‘fun with math’ enticed the students.

Teachers Day: DPS Vadodara celebrated Teachers Day with great fervor and reverence. Students showcased a mosaic of cultural programmes to mark the occasion. Student teachers dressed in formal attire took charge of the classes. It was heartening to see them emulating their favourite teacher and subjects.

Navratri: Navratri has a special place in the hearts of all Gujaratis. The nine-day revelry is celebrated with reverence and devotion. Students dressed vibrantly in traditional attire jived to the live Garba music. The school premises were immersed in music, dance and piety.

Children’s Day: At DPS Vadodara, Fun Fair is organised on Children’s Day to dedicate a fun-filled night of joy, ecstasy and frolic to our students. After being inaugurated by our principal Dr. AK Sinha, Fun Fair officially started with more than 24 game stalls, food court, mocktails, tambola and juke box. The Fun Fair aims at teaching students finance and trade concepts by giving them an opportunity to manage their own stalls.
