Overview

Delhi Pubic School (DPS), Siliguri is a co-educational day cum boarding school situated in Darjeeling district of the state of West Bengal. Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, it offers education from Kindergarten through class XII. The school aims to create responsible global citizens with global understanding and a genuine concern for the environment.

Campus

The school is situated on a 3.65 acres campus in Siliguri. The administrative block of the school includes Pro Vice Chancellor’s chamber, Principal’s office and the office executive room along with the Accounts department, Reception and Visitor’s room. The academic block hosts 100 spacious classrooms with comfortable furniture, green boards and other modern facilities.

Other facilities include a spacious library with over 6000 books, an Art and Craft centre, a music room with a wide range of Indian and Western instruments, 4 computer labs with over 120 computers, a Language Lab, Math Lab, Geography Lab, multipurpose hall, a modern conference room, courts for Basketball, Volleyball and Lawn Tennis, two swimming pools and two splash pools for kids.

Academics

DPS Siliguri is affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi and follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system at the primary and secondary level. The school offers education from Kindergarten to class XII with the help of dynamic, creative, inspiring and compassionate faculty members.

English is offered as communicative language and students can choose betweenHindi and Bengali as the second language in class IX and X. Students can opt between French, Hindi, Bengali, Sanskrit, Nepali and Germanas third language from class IV onwards.

Co-Curricular:

The school offers a wide range of co-curricular activities such as Indian classical dance forms – Kathak and Bharat Natyam, folk dance, Western dance, Dramatics, Art, Craftwork and learning musical instruments such as drum, synthesizer and guitar.

The school also encourages students to participate in games and sports such as Basketball, Chess, Carom, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Roller skating, Swimming, Tae-kwando and Mini Tennis for the smaller children.

Admission

Procedure for admission:

Registration forms are to be filled in and submitted at the school office within three days of issue.

Date for assessment test and official interaction will be confirmed at the time of registration and the same may be changed, on a very short notice by the school.

Registration does not imply admission which is based on admission test/observation, interaction and the availability of seats.

Documents to be submitted at the time of registration with registration and processing fee of Rs. 800 in cash:

a) Duly filled and signed Registration Form

(b) Colour passport-size photographs pasted at the appropriate places in the forms

(c) Photocopy of Proof of Date of Birth (issued by Municipal Corporation or any other Competent Authority).Date of birth certificate issued by doctors/nursing homes/hospitals will not be accepted

(d)Affidavit of numberof children of each gender

Fees:

The annual school fee ranges from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. Please contact the school office for the detailed fee structure.

Accommodation

DPS Siliguri offers five star boarding facilities to its students with AC rooms which can accommodate five children each. Rooms have attached bathrooms with hot and cold water supply.

Hygiene and cleanliness are strictly maintained in the boarding houses. Nutritious meals are prepared by experienced and trained dietician. The hostel also houses a barber shop. A trained nurse and an attending doctor are available round the clock.
