Skills4Future program
New delhi, december 12. The Gujarat Knowledge Society — an initiative of the Commissionerate of Technical Education, Gujarat and Edunet Foundation — launched their Skills4Future Program. Supported by Shell India, the objective of this initiative is to revolutionise technical education in Gujarat by addressing critical skills gaps and equipping engineering students with cutting-edge technologies expertise necessary for driving the industry 4.0 revolution. The program aims to train 10,000 students in primary skills and 2,500 students in advanced technologies annually.
Under this initiative, Digital and Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Labs will be established in select engineering colleges. Funded by Shell India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, these labs will serve as centres for experiential learning, hosting hackathons, innovation contests, and advanced training sessions.
Simultaneously, the program focuses on strengthening the overall learning ecosystem through in-person faculty development workshops led by industry experts. These workshops will enable educators to deliver world-class, industry-aligned training.
“Our collaboration with Shell and Edunet Foundation marks a milestone in connecting Artificial Intelligence with Green skills, very important for today’s generation for providing employability. By integrating industry expertise and hands-on training with our curriculums, this program ensures that our students will be prepared to lead in the rapidly evolving tech-driven world,” said Bannchha Nidhi Pani, Commissioner of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat and Gujarat Knowledge Society, speaking on the occasion.
Lodha Genius invitation
Mumbai, december 23. In partnership with Ashoka University, Sonipat, the Lodha Genius Programme, flagship education initiative of the recently endowed Lodha Foundation, invites applications from the brightest classes IX-XII students for its fully funded multi-year educational programme. The application window is open from December 1, 2024 to January 15, 2025.
The Lodha Genius Programme is a multi-year initiative that includes an annual four-week campus experience at Ashoka University, paired with year-round continued learning. It is designed to complement all major school-leaving examination boards, helping students deepen their studies and explore career paths in chosen fields. The programme offers a combination of immersive science and mathematics courses, practical life skills, continuous mentorship, and exclusive internships. It also provides scholarship opportunities for select students to study in the US and/or attend prestigious international STEM events.
“The focus of the programme is to enhance the quality of education, especially for gifted children, irrespective of income background, from all over India. Applicant children are assessed through an entrance exam that focuses on scientific reasoning, mathematics, and logic, rather than a specific curriculum. Then selected students based on their problem-solving abilities are interviewed to identify the brightest minds — whom we define as ‘geniuses’. And in the third year, the programme will offer selected geniuses access to people, opportunities and ideas that will propel them forward. The programme aims to shape tomorrow’s changemakers and leaders,” says Mahika Shishodia, Head of Education, Lodha Foundation.
