Govt. Model. Sr. Sec. School, Sector-16, Chandigarh“It’s a matter of immense pride and joy that Government Model, Chandigarh has been promoted to India’s #1 state government school. This is the result of the dedication, hard work, and vision of our entire school community. I am especially pleased with our top score for teacher welfare and development because we regularly conduct in-service training programs for our teachers to acquaint them with new pedagogies, ICT integration, and inclusive education. The outcome is our top score for academic reputation. Of the 438 students who wrote the class XII CBSE exam, 98.86 percent passed and 101 students averaged above 90 percent. Apart from academics, co-curricular and sports education are given high importance as indicated by our highest scores under these important parameters. Moreover to prepare students with career-ready skills, we are shortly introducing vocational courses in areas such as digital marketing, web development, entrepreneurship, and fashion design” — Bhavneet Kaur (left), Principal, Govt. Model. Sr. Sec. School, Sector-16, Chandigarh (2,680 students, 80 teachers)

RPVV, Sec-10, Dwarka

“Although we have conceded our last year’s #1 ranking, we are proud to be awarded top scores under the parameters of faculty competence, co-curricular education and individual attention to students. This is proof that our teachers are highly motivated and dedicated and working towards the all-round development of our students. Our teachers are continuously engaged in professional development programmes that advance their digital competencies and subject matter knowledge. They actively attend online MOOCs and participate in international forums such as CENTA and TESOL and in Mindfulness and Heartfulness programmes. Besides academics, our teachers and students actively engage in green initiatives by planting trees, producing organic manure, maintaining kitchen and herbal gardens and implementing a ban on single use plastic” — Dr. Atul Kumar (centre right), Head of School, RPVV, Sec-10, Dwarka (702 students, 50 teachers)
