“I am delighted that Daly College has retained its #1 ranking in the prestigious EW special category of vintage day-cum-boarding schools. I have been principal here for just over two years and several new initiatives that have been introduced are proving very successful. To improve under the critical parameter of teacher competence, apart form our regular teacher training and development programmes, we have started an independent teachers audit which has been very well received by the staff. In co-curricular education, we have participated in the G. Literati International Literature Festival and our Oxford Union style debates have attracted prominent politicians and public intellectuals to lead student teams. I am especially satisfied with our top score under the sports education parameter because our children return with bagful of trophies from inter-school and IPSC tournaments, particularly in shooting events. Our top score under individual attention to students is also very satisfying as I have introduced a students-centric open door policy which has had the additional benefit of raising students’ maturity quotient as all students reflect deeply before availing this facility. Evidently this has improved our children’s mental and emotional well-being as reflected in our top score under this very important parameter. Moreover our top score under the parameter of special needs education is well deserved as as we have established a Special Focus unit staffed by four dedicated expert teachers to work towards mainstreaming challenged children. All in all this has been a very good year for us in our effort to combine our ancient heritage with modern 21st century teaching-learning” — Dr. Gunmeet Bindra, Principal, Daly College (estb. 1882). Unsurprisingly Daly College is awarded a very high top score under the parameter of leadership. Currently, the CBSE and Cambridge International affiliated-DC has 1,680 student (including 421 boarders) mentored by 139 teachers on its muster rolls Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp
