First Advantage showcases new brand identity at the NASSCOM HR Summit 2013

July 25, 2013

First Advantage, a Symphony Technology Group (STG) company and the global leader in identity and trust information solutions, shared its thought leadership and unveiled its new brand identity at NASSCOM HR SUMMIT 2013 held on July 23-24 at the ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. The new brand identity aligns with First Advantage’s commitment to be the first such provider to deliver intuitive and easy-to-use solutions expected by clients and candidates alike. Touching 16 million people each year, First Advantage’s solutions are delivered by more than 4,000 associates in 26 offices around the world, four of which are located in India.

Participating in a panel discussion on “Derisking Human Capital” at NASSCOM HR SUMMIT 2013, the HR industry’s largest annual conference in India, Navin Chugh, senior vice president and managing director, of First Advantage India chaired a panel discussion focused on Reducing Human Capital Risk in India. The discussion was co-chaired with Dayanand Allapur – vice president and Head of human resources at Capgemini Business Services BPO and Raghavendra K – vice president and Head of human resources, Infosys BPO.

The panel discussed the current labour scenario with a varied demand supply ratio: For every job opening, there are an increased number of aspirants and the skill sets required are very specific. These factors have led to increasing challenges in recruitment from something trivial such as the misrepresentation of data to perhaps more drastic instances such as demanding money under the false pretext of ensuring jobs for the aspirants and more. Overall, the discussion centred on establishing and implementing the best practices within the recruitment ecosystem, mitigating the growing recruitment risk, and solutions to minimize or eliminate such activities.

Chugh said, “There are various kinds of recruitment risks currently faced by the industry. There are the misrepresentation of facts, identity theft, suspect companies and institutes offering fraudulent experience letters and degrees and unethical practices where people ask for money for jobs further accentuated by lack of background verification standards. All these affect the organizational ecosystem negatively, especially the cost for compliance. By adopting best practices such as solutions from First Advantage, we can proactively mitigate these risks and their impact on organization”.

As one of the sponsors for NASSCOM, First Advantage has also collaborated with NASSCOM and the National Skill Registry in an initiative to take background verification to a higher level and standardise the process of background verification providers’ qualification, evaluation and selection.

First Advantage provides comprehensive screening, identity and information solutions that give employers and housing providers access to actionable information that results in faster, more accurate people decisions. Headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., First Advantage has offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Set up in 1988, NASSCOM is the premier trade body of the IT-BPO industries in India. It is a global trade body with more than 1200 members, which include both Indian and multinational companies that have a presence in India.
