The event will be hosted on the sprawling state-of-the-art mint-new sports complex of the school from July 2 and continue till July 4.
“The events will bring together young athletes from CISCE-affiliated schools across eastern region, celebrating teamwork, discipline, and the true spirit of sportsmanship. Over the course of three exciting days, these student-athletes will engage in high-energy matches that showcase their hard work, passion, and dedication for the games,” Ranjan Mitter, principal of the school told EducationWorld.
The CISCE introduced multi-tier sporting events a few years ago to give a chance to students to compete in various sports events every year including football, badminton and cricket.
Future Foundation School, one of the most sought after ICSE institutions in Kolkata, has set up its sports complex on over 10.6 acres of land at Baruipur in the southern fringes of the city with sprawling outdoor and indoor spaces comprising popular sporting facilities of national standard.
The facilities comprise a football ground, three cricket pitches for net practice, badminton, volleyball and basketball courts, provision for gymnastic and also all-weather indoor facility.
To foster excellence in physical fitness and sportsmanship, the school, in addition to the high standard infrastructure, organises necessary training to inculcate a sporting culture among students, the principal said.
Intensive training programmes are conducted for building school teams and nurturing excellence in sports to represent the school at the regional, national and international levels.
The CISCE conducts games at three levels-zonal, regional and national. A team selected from the national level winners participate in the National School Games Federation of India of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
