GATE 2020 application deadline with normal fee extended

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Delhi has extended the last date of the submission of the application form for the GATE 2020. In a notice, regarding the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, IIT-Delhi stated, “Because of heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, the last date of application with normal fees has been extended up to September 28.”

Previously, the date was extended from September 24 to 26 and now it has been shifted to September 28. Furthermore, post September, the candidates can submit their application forms up till October 1 but with late fee. The candidates will have to pay Rs 1,500 as fee up to September 26 post which the fee will be hiked to Rs 2,000. For females and reserved category candidates, the fee is Rs 750 and late fee is Rs 1,250.

Fill in the required details and sign-in using the registered id

Make the required payment

The GATE 2020 will be computer-based multiple-choice question (MCQ) based exam. Candidates will have to answer 65 questions for a total of 100 marks within three-hours and the exam will consist of two sections. The paper will contain questions on general aptitude, engineering mathematics and core engineering.

A new exam of biomedical engineering has been added to the list of 24 papers starting from this year. A candidate is allowed to appear in only one paper in any one session. IIT Director V Ramgopal Rao had said in a statement that more than one million engineering graduates are expected to appear in the exams.
