Bangalore based IFIM Business School, India’s premier AACSB accredited B-school, announced the appointment of Dr Atish Chattopadhyay as the director of the institute.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Chattopadhyay said, “IFIM Business School has a global outlook and is poised for quantum growth post AACSB accreditation. IFIM enjoys the locational advantage of being in Bangalore, and a unique approach to teaching-learning where the students have the opportunity to customise their learning pathways. IFIM as an institution promotes academic entrepreneurship and encourages the faculty to innovate, experiment and disrupt the existing norms and conventions. I believe that existing models of academic value creation, including delivery, will get disrupted going forward, and academic institutions need to ready themselves for the needs of tomorrow. Dr Chattopadhyay has previously held leadership positions at three top management institutes of the country, namely S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai; MICA Ahmedabad; and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (IMTG), the most recent one being directorship at IMTG, prior to joining IFIM. During his tenure at IMTG, the institute received the AACSB accreditation, bounced back to reclaim its position amongst the top 10 B-schools of the country, and saw the ‘Sustainability and Social Responsibility (SSR)’ initiative getting the ‘Innovations That Inspire’ award of the AACSB.
Dr Chattopadhyay holds a Ph.D. in Marketing Strategy from Aligarh Muslim University and loves to interact on topics such as Strategic Marketing, Brand Management and Retail Shopper Marketing. He has consulted and conducted training programmes for leading organisations including MNCs. He has also published in top global journals and has presented at global forums across the world. Dr. Chattopadhyay dreams of creating a ‘Global Indian B-School’.
