IIT Jodhpur and alumni collaborate to launch novel Career Guidance and Career Assessment Programme
By Ronita Torcato Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur has signed an MOU with KRI Trust, an initiative of IIT alumni, to launch a “Career Guidance and Career Assessment programme” comprising individualised career guidance modules for all students including B.Tech’s as part of their curriculum. The objective of the initiative is to enable students to identify their core strength, inclination and aspirations, a release issued here said. Accordingly, the programme is covering Opportunities, Competency Building and Developing Entrepreneurial Aptitudes among other topics. Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT Jodhpur said, “Learning is not attained by chance but it must be sought for with passion and diligence. This programme, will enhance the innate abilities of students to follow their dreams thereby motivating them to excel in their career beyond the confines of IIT.” The MoU between IIT Jodhpur and KRI Trust was signed by Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Director IIT Jodhpur and Veteran Cdr Pradeep Prasad, Trustee KRI Trust in the presence of Prof. Surajit Ghosh, Dean (IR, AR, CR), Dr Gaurav Bhatnagar Associate Dean (IRO) and Dr Anuj Pal Kapoor Chairman Career Development Cell. The release issued here described the programme as “a first of its kind initiative to address drop out issues among students and to channelise their aspirations and dreams in the right direction. “The Career Development Center at IIT Jodhpur is responsible for the initiation of the sessions. The batch of 2023 will be the first beneficiaries of this program. It may be noted that a large plot of the permanent campus admeasuring 182 acres has been set aside for the development of a Technology Park to strengthen institute-industry interactions.The institute has also initiated the formation of Transdisciplinary Centres of Excellence.
