IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has partnered with BodhBridge Education, a company run by IIT Madras alumni, to offer Career Counselling Certification Training for school teachers.
This free-of-cost service aims to benefit school students, with whom teachers spend significant time, by helping them understand their strengths, weaknesses, and interests.
The initiative empowers teachers—the first counselors to school students across the country—by equipping them with essential career guidance skills. This enables teachers to guide students toward well-informed educational and career paths.
Currently, the initiative targets 10,000 school teachers across 5,000 schools in India over the next three months. The first batch of training commences on December 14, and the registration deadline is December 12, 2024.
Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer of IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, stated, “Career Counselling Certification is a perfect opportunity for teachers to develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to become career counselors.”
“This certification program equips teachers with the tools and strategies to play a significant role in guiding and supporting students in making informed career decisions. Teachers are increasingly expected to support students in crucial career-related choices.”
Certification will be provided to participants based on their performance in the post-training assessment.
