A delegation of 20 school heads and representatives from India recently visited Taiwan for five days as part of an effort to strengthen educational ties between the two countries. Supported by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and the Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre New Delhi, the visit aimed to promote collaboration and gain insights into Taiwan’s innovative educational pedagogy. The delegation consisted of school heads from various Indian schools and was led by Jyoti Arora, principal at Mount Abu Public School, Sec-5, Rohini.

During their stay, the delegation had the opportunity to experience Taiwan’s dynamic education system. They visited partner schools and cultural institutions, such as Taipei Wenhua Elementary School, Taibei International Bilingual School, National Museum of Marine Science & Technology, and the Kaohsiung Public Library. The delegation observed classrooms, engaged in discussions with teachers and students, and gained valuable insights into Taiwan’s student-centric approach, critical thinking emphasis, and integration of technology in education. They were impressed by Taiwan’s focus on holistic development, creativity, and fostering a love for learning among students.

In addition to school visits, the delegation also had deliberations with educationists, facilitating the exchange of best practices and insights from the Indian educational landscape. This cross-cultural exchange established the groundwork for future collaborations and mutual growth between schools in India and Taiwan.

The Indian delegation expressed gratitude to the Taiwanese educators and officials for their warm hospitality and knowledge sharing. They believe that the bonds formed during this visit will pave the way for future collaborations and enhance students’ global learning experiences in both regions. The visit to Taiwan has sparked a renewed vision for educational excellence in India, equipping them with innovative ideas and methodologies. The experiences and learnings from the visit are expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Indian education system.
