In a first-of-its-kind initiative, JBCN International School, Borivali, hosted the inaugural Svasthi Conclave — Mumbai’s first wellness-focused gathering exclusively designed for school principals and senior management teams. The event brought together over 50 educational leaders from across the city, including representatives from leading institutions such as Podar International School, Oberoi International School, and Children’s Academy Group of Schools.

Recognising the critical need to support the personal well-being of school leaders, Svasthi Conclave served as a platform for reflection, mindfulness, and rejuvenation. At a time when the demands on educational leadership are more intense than ever, the conclave offered participants a much-needed opportunity to pause, reconnect, and re-energise.

The event featured an impressive speaker lineup including celebrated mythologist and author Mr. Devdutt Pattanaik, noted psychiatrist Dr. Harish Shetty, Professor of Organisational Behaviour Dr. Keith D’Souza, former Mayo College Director Lt. Gen. Surendar Kulkarni, and health technologist Mr. Nicolas D’Souza. Together, they led thought-provoking sessions on leadership sustainability, mental health, and holistic self-care.

Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Debika Chatterji, Director-Principal, JBCN International School, Borivali, stated, “The Svasthi Conclave represents a significant shift in how we view educational leadership. At JBCN, we believe that empowered and balanced school leaders are key to shaping thriving learning communities.”

The day-long event also included a range of wellness-focused experiential activities such as a drum circle, dance movement therapy, and art-based reflection, all aimed at helping school leaders explore avenues for personal well-being and emotional resilience.

More than an event, Svasthi Conclave marked the beginning of an important conversation on the mental and emotional health of educators at the helm. With this initiative, JBCN International School, Borivali, has set a precedent in creating supportive ecosystems that prioritise the well-being of those who lead.
